Law of Attraction

"We become what we think about." - Earl Nightingale

The Law of Attraction has become a popular subject in the world of motivation, wealth building, dynamics of the mind, and personal development. It was made popular with the book and movie titled The Secret. It has been given a mystical aspect, therefore making it very attractive (no pun intended) to many who may not have ever tried any motivation or other personal development techniques.

The Law of Attraction is neither mystical nor a secret. Those of us in the personal development field have been exposed to this for years. It's origins, at least in books, seems to come from the period referred to the age of New Thought, during the later part of the 1800's and the first couple of decades of the 1900's. Books like, As a Man Thinketh, Thought Vibrations, and Master Key System all talk about the Law of Attraction. Even more recently, people such as Brain Tracey would teach that if you seriously set 10 goals to achieve in the year, and set them down in black and white on paper, and then just put the paper away, you will find that you will achieve at least 8 out of 10 of them.

Our mind works in a wonderful way when we have focus on something. Have you ever worked hard in making a big ticket purchasing decision, like a car? Once you've finally made up your mind, you start seeing not only the same model but same color car all over the place. Our reticular activating system goes to work for us to allow us to adjust our inner filter and help us properly focus. Opportunities seem to appear out of nowhere.

Using the tools in hypnosis and NLP, manifesting something in your mind is so much more powerful than just manifesting the goal on paper. You will start to attract to what you want and what you want will be attracted to you.
